Frequently asked questions
I LIVE FAR FROM YOUR MONTREAL WAREHOUSE, WHERE CAN I DONATE MY BIKE?
We have several partners across Quebec. Bike stores and dedicated volunteers who organize special events throughout the year. Please refer to the list of drop-off points on our website for partner stores.
DO YOU ACCEPT ONLY BICYCLES, OR PARTS AND ACCESSORIES TOO?
Yes, we collect parts and accessories for bikes that are still usable.
DO YOU ACCEPT ALL TYPES OF BIKES?
We accept a wide range of bikes, as long as the bike is functional or can be made functional with maintenance or a few new parts. If the bike is very rusty and the parts are frozen, please use your local eco-center.
WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH MY BIKE? ARE THEY ALL GOING TO AFRICA?
We have a number of local projects, including Vélorution, which consists of refurbishing bicycles and donating them to needy children. Also, for the project for temporary foreign workers, we provide them with a bike and safety equipment with the help of local partners. For the other bikes, we send containers to Togo for on-site projects run by two partners.
I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY TAX RECEIPT A FEW WEEKS AFTER MY DONATION. WHEN AM I SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE IT?
We are a small charity. We can’t provide tax slips as we go along. Rest assured that your tax slip will be issued before the end of February.
WHEN CAN YOU BENEFIT FROM THE VELORUTION REPAIR WORKSHOPS IN CÔTE-DES-NEIGES AND NOTRE-DAME-DE-GRÂCE?
For the time being, repairs take place from the beginning of June to the end of July. We are working to extend this offer to a longer period in the future. Thank you.
HOW MUCH DOES A REPAIR IN THE VELORUTION WORKSHOPS COST?
Labor is provided free of charge. You will be asked to cover material costs if you need to change parts. Consumables are sold at cost.
