Cyclo Nord-Sud was originally founded by a group of volunteers. Today, close to a hundred volunteers across Quebec are helping to build and expand our actions, while respecting environmental, human and economic resources.

Provide expertise in a variety of areas (socio-financing, marketing and data analysis, public relations, community liaison, human resources, accounting and finance, etc.).
Be a bike mechanic; represent the organization and run promotional booths; be a translator at multilingual events; create photo, video and sound content, take testimonials…
Put your bike mechanics skills into practice; compact, sort, store and dismantle bikes and parts; help load containers destined for international destinations; take inventory of high-end bike parts and estimate their price…

Support the team in various tasks (issuing tax receipts, telephone solicitations related to membership, maintenance of computer equipment, translation of content…)

Across the region, volunteers are mobilizing on behalf of Cyclo Nord-Sud, whether to organize collections of used bikes or distributions of refurbished bikes.

One group of volunteers in particular, based in Quebec City, is particularly involved, forming a committee that acts locally. The creation of this group of around twenty volunteers has enabled us to multiply our actions in the national capital, by collecting used bikes, upgrading them in our premises, and redistributing them to people in difficult circumstances.

If you too live in the region and would like to duplicate our actions around you, contact us, and we’ll help you set up a new volunteer committee.

To preserve a friendly and healthy working environment, a volunteer guide is given to each volunteer, who undertakes to respect certain rules.

  • Share the organization’s orientations and objectives
  • Respect commitments and give advance notice of unforeseen circumstances
  • Demonstrate respect, mutual aid, team spirit and solidarity in relationships
  • Be attentive to the image of the organization conveyed by his/her behavior and words
  • Adhere to the notion of volunteerism by carrying out tasks with no expectation of profit
