On 2017 June 1st, the Parc François-Perrault hosted the official launch of Vélorution Saint-Michel project.
Vélorution Saint-Michel, project of Cyclo Nord-Sud, has for objectives to encourage the sustainable mobility in Saint-Michel neighborhood. Prepared since 2016, it became active in May 2017 by offering numerous activities for the neighborhood population. Repair workshops in parks, bike and mechanic learning and initiation, road outings, low costs bike sales… Vélorution comes closer to the people!
On June 1st, the financial and technical partners gathered to officialise the project. Nicolas Gérard, director of the Fonds d’action québécois pour le développement durable, Frantz Benjamin et Sylvain Ouellet, conseiller de ville of Arrondissenent Villeray—Saint−Michel—Parc−Extension, and France Émond of Vivre Saint-Michel en Santé talked about the importance of mobility on bike at neighborhood scale and their support to the new project.
Andy H. Dang-Duy of Club Rotary de Montréal, and representatives of Éco-quartier Saint Michel / François Perrault, Loisirs communautaires Saint-Michel, Tandem VSP, Service de police de la Ville de Montréal, Vrac environnement – Atelier Culture Vélo, Vélo Québec and Cirque du Soleil took part to the event.
