Take part of a solidarity trip in Togo!

 

In collaboration with Éduc. Enfance Internationale and Écho de la jeunesse Togo (ECHOJET), Cyclo Nord-Sud offers you to participate in a 21-day solidarity trip in Togo. A great opportunity to discover the impacts of international cooperation and to find out how bikes are being reused overseas.

Available periods of stay;
August 2018, closing date for registration : june 15, 2018
Février 2019, closing date for registration: octobre 31, 2018

Program: support the ECHOJET team in the promotion of two main orientations:
  • Increase the accessibility to cyclism through the animation of educational workshops on maintenance, repair, and bicycle distribution in schools and among rural groups of women.
  • Raise public awareness about the benefits of cyclism for healthcare, environmental protection and social economy. Academic support of french teaching is also part of the program.

Work will be taking place AM or PM depending on the programs and will be determined according to the convenience of schools or women groups.  Touristic trips will be organized during the weekends (animal conservation parks, waterfalls, beach, etc.) as well as surprise nights! Participants will receive a detailed schedule before departure date.

Trip fees :  Approximatly 3 475 $ (amount is subject to change due to plane ticket price).

A charitable donation receipt will be issued by Cyclo Nord-Sud for the total amount.

Details :

→ Plane tickets and travel/luggage insurances: approximatly  2 000 $  depending on the year period (This information will be precised when participant will be ready for complete payment)
→Stay fees: 640 $ (including airport transport, 3 meals a day. lodging and drinking water)
→Cultural trips : 400 $ (including transport, admission price on sites , meal, beverage, hotel),
→Donation for the project : 150 $ (material and specialised labour in construction )
→Administrative expenses  : 285 $ (including 2 days mandatory pre-departures courses: issues in Togo, principles of international solidarity, MECANO project as well as basic bicycle mecanics.

Participants will be hosted in the village of Danyi N’Digbé in August 2018 and in the village of Kuma Adamé in February 2019. The participants might also travel among different villages and schools that are associated with the project.

This trip is part of the MECANO project  , that was first established in Lomé in 2013 by ECHOJET, in partnership with Cyclo Nord-Sud. ECHOJET has been hosting interns for many years et have the experience and the human and logistical ressources to offer a safe and professional environment for the participants. 

This program is a community-based initiative, and all the incomes of the project are used to cover the human and logistical expenses of the project.  Cyclo Nord-Sud, Éduc. Enfance International and ECHOJET are non-profit organisations with social missions.
